CorpArtes and Moneda present Anish Kapoor´s first exhibition in Chile
Fundación CorpArtes and Moneda Asset Management bring for the first time to Chile, the well-known British-Indian artist, Anish Kapoor. He is one of the most renowned contemporary artists in the world, whose work has erased the boundaries between architecture and sculpture. The opening of his exhibition Surge will he held on Sunday, April 28th, led by the artist himself at CorpArtes and will be open to public. The exhibition will continue throughout September 8th of this year. His art ranges from monumental structures to small incisions in walls that invite viewers to experience both the physical and non-physical in the aim of questioning our perception and sense of presence in the world. Surge is displaying a art work made especially for Chile.
Anish Kapoor is one of the most influential sculptors of his generation. He has lived and worked in London since the 70s and was awarded a Knighthood in 2013 for his contribution to the visual arts. He is known around the world for his public sculptures like Cloud Gate (2004), permanently installed in Millennium Park, Chicago, that has become the most emblematic attraction of that city; Sky Mirror (2006), exhibited at Rockefeller Center in New York and at Kensington Gardens in London, in 2010; Leviathan (2011), displayed at the Grand Palais in Paris; Orbit (2012), at Queen Elizabeth Park in London; and Ark Nova (2013), the first inflatable concert hall in the world.
